Missed Out On E
Day 3 of MM and I missed out on my exercise. I am currently taking an online class to get my RE license but had not done a class since last week - which is putting me behind on my goal finish date. I chose to do a class instead of my exercise, knowing I could do my workout at work. What I didn't realize is that work didn't have a correct size weight for me to use and I was not planning on the gym after work. So it didn't happen.
Today's a new day and I will go this morning before work. I got up early enough that it and my class can happen today. And now my thoughts have left me and I have nothing else to say....

Rethinking
I know as soon as I say that I will update this in the mornings, I will miraculously remember to update at night. So I am not going to say anything except, I will update it when I update it.
I seem to find myself recommending The Miracle Morning to everyone and I am only on day 2 - really on day 3 but this is a post for yesterday, so day 2. Someone can't get focused at work. You should try Miracle Morning. Cant seem to find the energy or time to workout? Hey, look into The Miracle Morning. In between jobs and feeling blah? I think The Miracle Morning will help. You should look into it. I am amazed at how focused my day stays just by adding in the couple of extras each morning to what I was already doing.
Silence
Affirmations
Visualization
Exercise
Reading
Scribing (Writing)
I think this is going to be a good month.

Already a Day Behind.....
....not in my MM but in my post....was certain I typed this up last night but just realized it was all in my head. Literally.
Today was Day 1 of The Miracle Morning. I like that it keeps me focused on the task at hand and that it doesn't allow for distractions. You go from one step to the next until you are done. The funny thing is that I always get up between 0500 and 0530 but I slept in. Until 0800. What?! Still not a problem as it just cut out the unnecessary Facebook time. Again, it keeps me focused and on task. I didn't realize until last night that I didn't do my Real Estate class - that is what I am missing by sleeping in. That and Facebook....
I found myself through out the day continuing to stay on task, as if I was on a schedule. I have also started "7" by Jen Hatmaker - or I guess I should say, I am doing it again. It goes by the premise of concentrating on "fasting" from a certain area of your life for a month. I don't necessarily agree with all that she says concerning fasting - or some of her other beliefs - but this book is good for getting a fresh perspective on ones life and all that we have to be thankful for. This first month is food. She chose 7 foods to eat. Just those 7, for the month. I have chosen to do more of a cutout of other food type things. My fast for this month is: no fast food (I only eat CFA anyway), no sweet tea (will add this back in at the end of the month, but only with meals), no snack foods (I tend to snack while I am packing the kid's lunches as work - two for you, one for me), no candy (again, work is causing me to gain weight), and my only treat allowed is Le Macaron on Sunday nights with Randy. It is our recharge, refresh, plan for the week time. I look forward to it all week and am completely bummed when it is missed. It stays, but as my only source of "happy food" all week.
I am look forward to what this MM routine does for me and how I grow as I move through it and "7".
Oh, I also started - complete with measurements and BMI - a diet and exercise journal. I have only had it for at least 5yrs - it made the move with us from VA to FL, so I figured I should go ahead and use it. Lots happening; lots of changes; God is moving and we are moving with Him.

4 years ago, In a Land Far Away
Wow. Has is really been 4yrs since I last posted on this blog? Considering the trouble it took to get back in, I am guessing that is about right. So many things have changed in 4yrs. I honestly am at a loss for where to start, so I will just start from here. I recently listened to an audiobook called, "The Miracle Morning", by Hal Elrod that I am going to start implementing Monday. As part of that, my plan is to update this each night with how my day went and how my perspectives are changing based on following the steps outlined in TMM. I already have two accountability partners lined up so I kinda have to do it. I mean, that is the point of an accountability partner, right?!
So for now, this is it. I may sign on tomorrow just to stay in the habit. Or not. Either way, see you here Monday night.

Month Two, Catch Up
My last post said I was reevaluating my foods for this month. I did and have decided on what I wont eat as opposed to what I will. What I am not eating this month are broken down into categories - kind of.
They are: 1. Coke of any kind (not really something I drink normally but on occasion I want one)
2. Snacks, Chips, etc - never realized how much I snack on chips and pretzels until this last week
3. Desserts
4. Comfort Foods - this too is hard because I dont really know what I consider a comfort food until I feel guilty for thinking about eating it. lol
5. Coffeehouses - no mas fraps :0(
6. Pasta - and we eat A LOT of pasta
7. Fast Food - again not something I do a lot of but I figure I will continue this from last month's no spending
So, in the last week I did mess up twice. The first time, I didn't even realize it until Randy and I were talking the next day about the 7 categories I wasnt eating in this month. oops The second time was yesterday. We went to a Starbucks and I was going to get a water. Somehow I walked out with a Caramel Machiato. I am still trying to decide if this is a true mess up. When I thought Coffeehouses, I really was just thinking Fraps. But really all you would have to do is add ice and blend and my drink could be a frap, so......

Month Two - What We Eat and Aiming Higher
Today is Day Three of Month Two and there have been some changes. Day One was awesome! I only ate from my allowed foods and did not partake on pizza, birthday cake - two opportunities, or spaghetti. What I did experience was awful Acid Reflux. Time to rethink this month. I know that the concept is tied to the theme of "7" but what we have decided is that for us, it was be a focus on what we are eating as much as it will be a focus on what we aren't eating. Meaning, no bread/butter, ice cream, snack foods - pretzel, chips, etc; no dessert or cokes; nothing that is bad for us. Only what is good for the body. We are sticking to water, fruits, veggies, rice, chicken, fish, etc. I have to say that even though Day One was "perfect", I got more joy out of Day Two. I wanted a Coke and did not have one (not something I normally drink, just craving one); I didn't get a cookie/dessert at Panera where I took the kids for a BDay lunch; I didn't eat any birthday cake at the house (and it looks GOOD); I didn't eat any of the super yummy chips they get from Moe's EVERY Tuesday night (I usually eat a couple handfuls before I run out the door). So, for now, we are happy with our choice for this month.
Part Two of this month I have yet to work on as I have not really thought about it until now......so, that will come in a post or three.
